Contraindication

Manicures
- Leave time after the manicure to allow to dry!

Hands should be immediately dried after
washing them and a hand cream should be applied. A pump
despensers is a good idea to leave next to every basin
in your house.

Gloves should be worn to protect against
hot water, bleaches, detergents etc. They should also
be worn while doing jobs like gardening.

Hands should be protected from cold
weather by appling hand cream and wearing gloves.
If your hands are very dry, warm oil (almond or olive)
or hand cream plus the addition of a capsule of vitamin
E oil should be applied to the hands last thing at night.
Plain cotton gloves can be worn to bed to prevent staining
of the bed clothes.

Cuticles can be kept in good condition
by appling cuticle oil or cream to each nail nightly.
- Don't use your nails as tools
- Apply clear coat of nail varnish every day or other to
help prevent chipping of the varnish.
Pedicures
- Wear open toe shoe/sandles to prevent varnish smudging
- To prevent deformatives to the foot, toe or nails, shoes,
socks, tights of stockings should not be too tight.
- Feet washed daily will prevent infection and odours, ensure
they are dried thoroughly

To prevent infection-free, dry clean
feet. Socks should be changed daily and you should not
wear the same shoes two days in a row.

A 2.5cm (1 in) heel is healthy for
the feet. To prevent postural and arch problems your shoe
height should be no greater than 5cm (2 in).
- Using a pumice stone or hard skin cream, this should help
keep hard skin under control
After Waxing
- Do not bathe or shower in hot water for 12 - 24 hours
- Do not used sauna, steam rooms, hot tub etc for 24 to
48 hours
- Do not sunbath/sunbeds or use tanning lotion for 24 to
48 hours
- Do not use any perfumed products on the waxed area for
24 to 48 hours
- Avoid tight clothes especially around the waxed area,
as this may cause irritation
- Do not go swimming for 24 -48 hours
- For long term improvements book in for regular treatments
and do not shave between treatments
- Regular exfoliation, will prevent ingrowing hairs
- Irriation or swelling seek medical advice and please inform
me.
Facials
- Keep make-up and skin products to a minimum for 24 hours
- Do not have any other facial treatment for 48 hours
- Keep away from direct sun/sunbeds and heat sources for
48 hours
- For best results, use products prescribed for home care
and book for a regular facial every 4 weeks.
- Always use an SPF moisturiser.
- Exfoliating products should not be used for 72 hours
- Irriation or swelling seek medical advice and please inform
me.
Eye Treatments
- Do not go swimming/saunas for 24 to 48 hours
- No touching/rubbing straight afterwards
- Avoid Make-up for 24 hours

Calgel Nails After Care
Household chemicals can damage your skin
and nails, therefore always wear gloves when using these chemicals
and cleaners Calbrook Hand and Cuticle creams will keep your
hands and cuticles soft and supple. They are also formulated
to be safe for use with Calgel and not cause any lifting.
Wash your hands immediately after using hair
gels, sun creams and medicated creams (especially if they
are frm metal tubes) Calcrystal should be applied ever 3-4
days if you swim or use sun beds regularly
Contraindication
Condition or symptons which would be deemed
unsuitable to the treatment in the interest of personal health,
safety and well being.
Manicures & Pedicures
- Nail infection
- Skin disorders affecting the hands
- Broken sore skin in treatment area
- Extremely weak nails
- Extremely badly bitten nails
Waxing
- Diabetic – must have a letter from a GP
- Skin disorders - must have a letter from a GP
- Severe bruising - must have a letter from a GP
- Loss of tactile skin sensation - must have a letter from
a GP
- Circulatory problems such as, varicous veins
- Medication & allergies must be disclosed
- Broken skin or other impediments in immediate treatment
area e.g. cuts, sores, warts, moles, swellings, lumps and
bumps
Facials
- Hypersensitive skins e.g. sunburn
- Extremely vascular skins
- Acute inflammation or swelling in the face
- Infectious skin condition
- Asthma or severe sinus disorder – asthma pump would
need to be present
- Diabetic – must have a letter from a GP
- Cancer – must have a letter from a GP
- Recent facial inject able, acidic peels, operations or
surgery – need consultants approval
- Medication & allergies must be disclosed
Eye Treatments
- Infectious eye conditions
- Bruising or cuts around area
- Medication & allergies must be disclosed
Calgel Nails
- UV sensitive medication - HRT, contraceptive pill, anitbiotics
etc
- Vitamins - High or prescriptive dosage
- Nail/Skin disorders and diseases
- Broken bones or torn ligaments
- Hepatitis
- Aids or HIV
